What you can and can't do with Calc My Project, and what we promise (and don't) in return.
Calc My Project is a set of free, public construction cost estimators, plus a paid Pro tier for contractors and a free contractor-matching service for homeowners. By using any of it, you agree to these terms.
You can use the public calculators all you want — for personal projects, for educating clients, for sanity-checking bids you're writing. You can quote our numbers in your own work as long as you don't claim to be us.
You can't:
Use our numbers as a sanity check — bids that fall more than ±20% from our range deserve a second look — but don't make a financial decision based only on what the calculator shows.
Matching is free for homeowners. We verify each matched contractor's license and insurance at the time of match, but we are not a party to the work that's done — that contract is strictly between you and the contractor you choose.
We are not liable for the quality, timeliness, or pricing of work performed by a matched contractor. Always check current license status, check references, and put your agreement in writing.
The site, the calculators, the layouts, and our brand are ours. The pricing data is sourced from third-party publishers and used under fair-use aggregation for the purpose of cost education.
Anything you put into the site (estimate names, customer info, custom rates) stays yours. You give us only the right to host and display it back to you.
The site is provided "as is." We try hard to keep pricing current and accurate, but we don't guarantee any specific level of accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular project.
To the extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from this site is limited to (a) the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, or (b) USD $100, whichever is larger. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages — including budget overruns on a project estimated through the site.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the site at least 30 days before they take effect. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms, with notice and an opportunity to cure when reasonable.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware.
